About the Book
Prayer is an act seeking to engage with an object of worship, generally a deity, in direct and deliberate communication. Prayers take a variety of forms, as part of a set liturgy or ritual, in solitude, or in a community or group. Prayers may be performed as hymn, incantations, formal creedal statement, or as unscripted spontaneous utterances. In some cases prayers call for acts intercession from a deity, or a deified ancestor, or, prayers can be said to give thanks or praise.

The Return of Prayers Thomas Goodwin Books
Goodwin does not discuss praying like the authors I'm familiar with, such as Watchman Nee, Saphir, Bounds and Murray. The content of the book is a discussion on how we know God answers our prayers. It is not a book about praying, but a book that explains the different ways we recognise an answer to prayer. It also explains in depth what we can expect as an answer to prayer and when we are told to stop praying about people or problems in our lives. It answers more questions that I've had through my lifetime that no preacher has ever addressed about what answered prayer is and how our faith is wrapped up in prayer. The drawback to the Kindle edition is that there is no navigation, but the content of the book is such that i don't care. I would suggest for those who are not used to the language of this time period that they buy the Kindle edition of the Websters Unabridged Dictionary (vintage pre-1923) because the archaic language won't bring up definitions with the default setting of the dictionary on the Kindle.Product details
